What shall I do, Lord?
On the road to Damascus something amazing, something, but on the journey there his plans, his goals, and his priorities were radically re-directed. It was on this road that Saul, as he was known at that time, first met the Risen Savior, Jesus Christ. And his entire life was dramatically transformed.
Each of us can recall countless times that Jesus has revealed Himself to us. He has revealed Himself in the Eucharist, in our reading of Scripture, in the love that we have given and received from those close to us and perhaps even in a way as distinct and unforgettable as Saul experienced on the road to Damascus. However, no matter how dramatic or routine, when we experience Christ in our lives, our response should be the same as St. Paul, “What shall I do, Lord?”
Today, in a time when God is often an afterthought in our secular culture, it is the prayer of this church that God would intervene powerfully in the lives of fellow citizens and reveal Himself to them, as he did to Saul on that road to Damascus. Our prayer is that lives.
